Russia is NATO’s main adversary, so Ukraine must be supported.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasizes that European and Canadian allies must actively continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, including through purchases from the United States, because the United States is ready to continue providing military assistance.
Rutte announced this during a speech at the Ukrainian Breakfast at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The Alliance’s Secretary General emphasized that Russia is NATO’s main adversary. He also urged caution regarding China, which is growing in power.
Rutte emphasized that the courageous Ukrainian military is defending Ukraine from Russia, and therefore it is necessary to discuss how to assist the Ukrainian Defense Forces. He stated that Ukraine needs military support from Western countries, including interceptors for its air defense forces.
In this regard, he appealed to allied countries from Europe and Canada with a request to support Ukraine.
“The United States is ready to supply Ukraine with as much military equipment as it needs, especially these interceptors, which the Europeans and Canadians are paying for. We must maintain this flow, ensuring that it continues and that we don’t lose sight of this core issue, which is fighting the Russians. The Ukrainians are doing this. They need our support. This is also about our collective security. That’s what’s at stake,” Rutte emphasized.
