The US House of Representatives vote on aid to Ukraine is unlikely to happen until at least mid-April, and possibly later, as Speaker Mike Johnson is still seeking ways to soften opposition from radical Republicans.

They say that Johnson’s team has not shared a detailed plan regarding the aid package with Republican lawmakers, and it seems undecided on the actions he will insist on from President Joe Biden’s administration, making it difficult for him to secure support in time for a vote next week.
Johnson’s spokeswoman, Taylor Haulsee, stated that the speaker’s promise of swift action did not intend to establish a specific deadline and that Johnson was “sounding out members” regarding the plan. She did not provide further information on the speaker’s consultations.
Two representatives of the Republican leadership stated that there is still a possibility that Johnson could decide regarding the Ukraine aid plan over the weekend and expedite the project’s approval next week.
However, Bloomberg notes that such an accelerated schedule could lead to the bill’s failure and further confrontation with hardline supporters within the Republican Party.
Recently, the administration of the US president refused to accede to the proposal of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, to provide aid to Ukraine if the president reverses his decision to suspend the issuance of new licences for liquefied natural gas exports.

- Johnson said that the US aid package for Ukraine will include “some important innovations”, including the possibility of extending a US loan to Ukraine.
- Mike Turner, chairman of the US House Intelligence Committee, said that Johnson has promised to put the issue of providing assistance to Ukraine to a vote after Congress returns from the Easter recess on 9 April.
- The US Congress’ approval of over US$60 billion in aid to Ukraine is currently being blocked by Republicans in the House of Representatives. The White House has repeatedly cautioned that this would significantly harm Ukraine’s military efforts on the battlefield.

The dithering continues. Whatever reason Johnson or others may give, it serves only to postpone aid until after November. And then, if the orange monkey sits in the Oval Office, the aid will never arrive.
I wish the press would stop calling them hardliner Republicans. They are not Republicans, and their hard line serves to hand a vicious dictatorship a victory. These creatures are gofers, servants, sniffling scum to the orange traitor and nothing else.
There is a malign intelligence at work here that is way beyond the capabilities of Trumpkov or nazi trailer-trash MTG.
The objective is to pile on the agony for Ukraine. A Bannon staffer commenting on a KP article revealed recently that it is he in fact who is coordinating behind the scenes.
Bannon combines alt-rightism, tankieism and a visceral hatred of Ukraine that is beyond even Trumpkov.
He wants Ukraine dead.
Any doubts about this can be put to bed simply by reading the readers’ comments columns of his putler-rimming site; Breitbart.
It looks like Ukraine will get nothing more from the US until or unless both houses have obtained Dem control.

Enough already, no false trust in that crook’s honesty anymore, Dems and moderate Republicans need to override the Speaker and get the bill on the way now! As soon as Congress returns on Tuesday, I personally will not skimp on candles and prayers, even if the demonic corruption of the minds of Congress deserves a most radical exorcism!

We have reached this inflection point that we all feared. I’m really, really, really worried.
It’s not MTG single-handedly preventing the passing on the bill, she’s just one relatively powerless Congresswoman, albeit a radical one. It’s Johnson, the mighty Speaker, on order by the even mightier Trump! Actually, MTG may be part of a kabuki theatre to make it look as if Johnson is under attack from the right. But truth is, he’s the most radical Speaker of modern times and had been the choice of the Trump wing of the party. That crazy Taylor Greene is only putting on a show is also evident in the fact that she didn’t get flak from the Trump camp. It’s all about preventing deliveries to Ukraine, don’t get fooled by the lousy clown show! 🤡

She could have just admitted that “MAGAt Mike’s” promise was a lie.
It is, he is adding conditions to the bill, that he knows that the Dems won’t accept. He will drag this out until November if he can, hoping that Trump is elected.
I’m thinking of a chant, but substituting just one word….remove Pence and replace with Johnson. Someone who actually deserves such a chant for helping Putin murder Ukrainians.
