LDPR party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky has died at the age of 75. Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin announced this on his telegram channel.

“After a severe and prolonged illness, Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky passed away … For all of us, this is an irreparable loss. May the bright memory of him always be in our hearts, ”the message says.

Volodin also announced the death of the LDPR leader at a meeting of the State Duma and announced a moment of silence. The Duma faction of the LDPR confirmed that its chairman had died on 6 April.

On February 2, Vladimir Zhirinovsky  was hospitalized with coronavirus at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Presidential Administration (TsKB) in Moscow.

In early March, TASS, citing a source  , reported that the politician was taken out of the state of drug sleep, in which he was in order to support the body. However, a few days later, the media reported a deterioration in the condition of the LDPR leader, which was denied by the party .

On March 25, Zhirinovsky’s death  was reported  by the telegram channel Mash and Senator  Alexander Pronyushkin . Volodin and the Liberal Democratic Party soon denied this information. Pronyushkin deleted the post and apologized. Volodin advised him to resign. The Kremlin called the March reports of Zhirinovsky’s death a “duck”, saying that the politician was in serious condition and was under the control of doctors. The Liberal Democratic Party threatened those who reported the death of Zhirinovsky with lawsuits.
