Comprehensive restoration of Yagidne: rebuilding housing and returning people to their homes
In March 2022, the village of Yagidne in the Chernihiv region was under temporary occupation by Russian troops. The housing stock of the settlement and all social infrastructure facilities were destroyed. We are rebuilding the village comprehensively as part of an experimental project to restore settlements affected by the Russian aggression.
✅ Currently, major repairs of 75 residential buildings have been completed. Another 13 are in progress. As part of the overhaul, we are restoring roofs and facades, making a basement and blind area, and replacing windows and doors.
🟢The list of works for each house is individual, depending on the degree of damage. Last week, work was carried out on installing entrance doors at individual facilities and pouring concrete into porches. Two houses are in the process of performing facade work – one is being insulated with plastering, the other is being painted.
🧱We are rebuilding four houses in Yagodne “from scratch”. We are building new homes according to the parameters of the destroyed ones. The projects include: construction of the foundation, basement, walls, roof, porches, installation of windows and doors, as well as a full range of interior work.
We are already carrying out interior work at two such facilities. This week, we are laying heating, sewage and water supply pipes on Kosmonavtov. On Yabluneva, we are making a metal profile frame for ceiling installation.
ℹ In addition to housing restoration, the comprehensive project includes the restoration of the street and road network, the construction of a public building with a shelter, the construction of a drinking water pump room and the arrangement of a memorial.
