The celebration over Vice President JD Vance’s statement that the U.S. may deploy troops to Ukraine if Putin does not sign an agreement with Kyiv was short-lived.
Now, he is backing down, claiming that the WSJ “twisted his words.” On February 13, when asked whether the possibility of U.S. troops in Ukraine was “off the table,” Vance responded that in negotiations with President Donald Trump, “everything is on the table.” But apparently, not everything.
I know we want to be hopeful, believing there is a grand strategy behind the contradictory statements from Trump, Vance, Hegseth, and Kellogg. But the reality is much simpler — there is no great strategy, just wishful thinking.
We simply need to acknowledge the obvious: the current U.S. government is incompetent. I understand that we’re trying to find a spoonful of honey in a barrel of tar, but that won’t lead to anything good. Reality is straightforward — when a government is incompetent, its decisions will be as well.

Incompetent doesn’t even begin to cover the MAGA gang. From 24 hours to 6 months, and throw in blackmailing Ukraine, tells you all you need to know about the current WH. This is before Gabbard has even sent all US intelligence to putler.
A closer look at Trump and those he chose for his cabinet speaks volumes about incompetencies to anyone willing to listen. First the Biden administration and now this one. We went jumping out of the frying pan right into the fire.
