Following the House of Representatives, the US Senate passed a $1.5 trillion spending bill, which also includes $13.6 billion in emergency funding to support Ukraine and NATO’s Eastern-flank allies.
The voting in the upper house of the US Congress took place late on Thursday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Some 68 lawmakers supported the bill, 31 voted against. It was important to pass the document, which includes a large-scale package of funding for US government agencies, by Friday, the deadline to avoid a shutdown.
The bill, in particular, provides assistance of $13.6 billion, including more than $3 billion to support the US European Command mission, the deployment of US troops in the region, support for intelligence, strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The package also includes $4 billion in humanitarian support, refugee assistance, and emergency food and healthcare.

American legislation can be very complicated when they mix a bunch of programs together like that.
Not necessarily because they genuinely are bastards. The United States’ national budget is extremely strained right now and already in massive debt of around $30 billion dollars. Mostly because of stupidity pursued by incompetent, bureaucratic, politicians who either don’t care about American debt, or are so moronic they actually don’t understand what national debt really means for later. There’s even recently been efforts to pass new budgets that would “write away” the debt. Someone who would understand what that means, might try thinking only about what’s capable of being paid for right now while trying to plan for later steps, if the debt is called in. If that debt is called in, then by the bank, whoever pays for it retains financial influence over the United States, and there’d probably be a government reshuffle similar to what happened with the collapse of the USSR
Exactly. America had no business sticking our noses in Ukraine’s business. We should’ve stayed out of it. But instead NATO/US egged Zelensky on and got him to attack Russia ao American oil oligarchs could steal Russian oil.
