New harsh sanctions to ban investments in Russia are introduced by the United States.

“As long as Russia continues its vicious assault on Ukraine, we will be united with our allies and partners in imposing additional costs on Russia for its actions. These sanctions will freeze any assets of Sberbank and Alfa Bank associated with the US financial system and prohibit American persons from doing business with them  .

In addition, the blocking of sanctions also applies to the most important state-owned enterprises for Russia. According to the White House statement, any US citizen is prohibited from making deals with these organizations. Their list will be announced by the United States Treasury tomorrow.

The sanctions also included Russian State Duma officials, Putin’s daughter, the wife and daughter of Foreign Minister Lavrov, as well as members of the Russian security council, including former Russian President and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“These individuals enriched themselves at the expense of the Russian people. Some of them are responsible for providing the support needed to support Putin’s war with Ukraine. This action cuts them off from the US financial system and freezes all assets they own in the United States,” the White House said in a statement.
