Following the results of the Coalition of the Willing meeting, European leaders called on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to agree to a full 30-day ceasefire without additional conditions, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said during a press conference following the meeting with the Coalition of the Willing.

“We stand here to advocate for the just, lasting peace that Ukraine deserves,” he said.

Starmer stressed that almost two months have passed since Ukraine agreed to the idea of ​​a 30-day ceasefire. 

“During this time, Russia has launched one of the most devastating attacks against civilians, destroying lives, homes, families. This is what Russia is offering, instead of peace, along with an attempt to brainwash, along with delays, not responding to the ceasefire proposal. That is why we are here, together with the United States, addressing Putin openly: if you are serious about peace, now is your chance to demonstrate it. I emphasize that this is about an unconditional 30-day ceasefire with the immediate start of negotiations after a ceasefire is achieved, without additional conditions, without delays. Putin wants conditions, instead of a ceasefire, he organized a military parade, he is challenging again, he refuses, despite our numerous calls, despite calls from Ukraine,” the British Prime Minister emphasized.

He stressed that if Putin refuses to cease fire, Britain and the United States will increase military assistance to Ukraine.

“If Putin does not return to the path of peace, we will respond. Together with President Trump, we will increase our assistance to Ukraine’s defense power to force Russia to the negotiating table,” Starmer said.
