On the morning of November 29, unmanned boats seriously damaged the berthing equipment of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal in Novorossiysk, Russia. As a result, oil shipments were completely suspended.
This was reported by the press service of the CPC. It is known about the complete inoperability of the VPU-2 mooring device of the sea terminal in Novorossiysk after the attack by unmanned boats. According to the company, the structure received significant damage and is beyond repair.
At the port, by order of the captain, all cargo operations were stopped, and the tankers were taken outside the terminal’s water area. The consortium noted that it was impossible to use the VPU-2.
In parallel, Turkish media reported a drone attack on the VIRAT tanker, which belongs to the Russian “shadow fleet” and was heading towards Turkey. According to Russian propagandists, the vessel could have been attacked by 5 unmanned boats approximately 35 nautical miles from the Black Sea coast. The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure confirmed that the Virat tanker was attacked again on the morning of November 29 and received minor damage to the starboard side.
OBOZ.UA previously reported that the Sea Baby drones of the Security Service of Ukraine disabled two sanctioned oil tankers, KAIRO and VIRAT, in the Black Sea. The vessels belonged to the “shadow fleet” of the aggressor country Russia and were heading empty for loading to Novorossiysk.
