Russia has reported new drone attacks in a number of regions. Explosions were heard on the night and morning of July 5, particularly in the areas of the Engels and Borisoglebsk military airfields.
Also, a massive fire broke out in an industrial zone in the city of Cheboksary (Chuvashia) after the attack. The Russians posted footage of drones, explosions, and their aftermath online.
Thus, among the targets chosen by unknown good drones in the territory of the Russian Federation this time was a military airfield in Engels, Saratov region. Explosions there were heard in the morning. Eyewitnesses spoke about the work of air defense and electronic warfare, and residents of the city also complained about the lack of mobile communication.

At the same time, local authorities stated that “as a result of the UAV attack, residential buildings in Engels and Saratov were destroyed. There were no preliminary injuries. Emergency services are working on the scene.” There was no mention in the reports of the airfield from which enemy aircraft take off to strike Ukraine.

Another airfield, the consequences of the attack on which are already visible even from space, is located in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation – in Borisoglebsk. A few days ago, the Borisoglebsk Chkalov Aviation Training Center for Flight Personnel was attacked there, and two Russian servicemen were killed. The regional authorities covered up both the attack on the air center and the death of the occupiers.
Now, a “dvizhuk” has appeared again in Borisoglebsk. Locals recorded on video drone flights and explosions, as well as a fiery glow in the area of the airfield after the attack.

NASA satellites also recorded fires there.

A few hours later, the General Staff confirmed the strike on the Borisoglebsk airfield : it was carried out by the SSO soldiers in cooperation with their counterparts from other components of the Defense Forces. It is known that a warehouse with guided bombs, a combat training aircraft, and, probably, other aircraft were hit.
In the main city of Chuvashia, Cheboksary, local residents also observed unknown drones in the sky and recorded them hitting an unknown target in an industrial zone. Eyewitnesses in the footage on the network mean it as a “factory”. At the same time, some videos were shot from the territory of the manufacturer of heating boilers “Vuterm”, judging by them, the arrival occurred either at the enterprise or directly next to it.

It is not known exactly what was hit. However, the Russian independent publication ASTRA notes that after the attack, police blocked the entrance to the territory of JSC VNIIR-Progress. This company manufactures Comet antennas for the Russian army, which protect Russian Armed Forces drones from Ukrainian electronic warfare.
“New footage of Cheboksary residents shows that security forces blocked the entrance to the MVT Center shopping center on Yakovlev Avenue. On the other side of the shopping center is VNIIR-Progress. At the same time, the enterprise is located approximately 4 kilometers from the Vutherm plant, in the area in which a fire broke out after the UAV attack, according to ASTRA’s analysis. The reason for the blocking of the territory of VNIIR-Progress and the MVT Center shopping center is currently unknown,” ASTRA specified.
The previous attack on this enterprise took place on June 9, after which it suspended operations.
Later, the head of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolayev, confirmed the attack on VNIIR-Progress, saying that the production facility was out of operation after the previous attack in June of this year. He also confirmed the attack on the building on Lapsarsky Proezd.
“This morning, an attack by two Ukrainian drones was recorded in Chuvashia. Thanks to the coordinated work of emergency services, we managed to avoid casualties and injuries. One drone fell on the roof of an empty building of JSC VNIIR, in which production was suspended after a previous attack in June of this year. The second damaged a warehouse under construction on Lapsarsky Proezd. All services are working in an intensified mode, we are keeping the situation under full control. I ask you to remain calm and trust only official information,” Nikolayev wrote.

Upon arrival, a fire broke out at the impact site. Thick black smoke was visible from afar.
In Cheboksary, locals also complained about disruptions in mobile communications.
A drone attack was also reported in the Leningrad region. It delayed more than 50 flights at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. The “Carpet” plan was announced there late last day.
“To ensure flight safety, Pulkovo Airport has been temporarily restricted from accepting and releasing aircraft from 23:15 (with several openings). At the airport, service personnel and ground services are working in an intensified mode. Airlines are making forced adjustments to the schedule. Currently, more than 50 flights have been delayed. Representatives of the airlines and the airport are working with passengers. Water and food are provided during the waiting period,” the Pulkovo press service said.
As a reminder, the day before, the General Staff confirmed a strike on a company producing combat units for the “Shaheeds” in the Moscow region. After the attack, a fire was recorded there.
Also on July 4, a chemical plant caught fire south of Belgorod after a drone attack: Russians complained that smoke could be seen 25 km away.

Nice! Mafia land must burn!
“I ask you to remain calm and trust only official information,”
