Ukrainian hackers carried out a large-scale attack on more than 100 Russian websites. This led to significant financial losses estimated at billions of dollars.

The attack was carried out by the hacker group UA25. This was reported by StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“And again they loudly declared themselves. The leader of the group and the team of the UA25 hacker group gained access to more than 100 Russian sites in a few minutes,” the message says.

They successfully penetrated servers containing information about critical infrastructure and extracted tens of terabytes of confidential information from them.

It is noted that this hacker attack caused more than $12 billion in damage to the aggressor country. Restoring servers and information will require significant effort and resources.

Last time, Ukrainian hackers “BO Team” broke the largest of the three research centers for space hydrometeorology of the Russian Federation – “Planet”. As a result, an unprecedented amount of information was destroyed, in particular, unique research accumulated over the years, as well as meteorological and satellite data used by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Roscosmos and other structures of the aggressor country.

And in the spring, Ukrainian hackers are actively working in the “elections” in Russia. The other day, cyber warriors took down more than fifty official websites of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party.

The other day, the Ukrainian IT army launched an attack on a number of government and local portals of the Russian Federation. In particular, the Troika fare payment system was broken , which led to the cessation of work of the Moscow metro.

And hackers of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked such Russian state websites as Standardinform, Stankoprom, State Institution of the Ministry of Finance of Russia. As a result of the attack, tens of terabytes of information were destroyed, hundreds of users’ domain computers and the data on them were encrypted.

Also, GUR cyber specialists successfully attacked the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation.
