The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has granted civilians the right to use declared firearms to deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation or other states against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The adopted resolution, in line with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine,” amends paragraph 4 of the Procedure for the Use of Firearms by Civilians in the Context of Repelling and Deterring Armed Aggression by the Russian Federation and/or Other States against Ukraine during Martial Law.
“The updated Procedure grants civilians the right to use firearms, as established under the Law of Ukraine ‘On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine,'” the statement reads.
- On Tuesday, August 20, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine”.
This is the only right thing to do. In another war with another enemy, such a policy would be almost like a death sentence for the civilians, because under the rules of war only soldiers wearing uniforms are allowed to kill enemy soldiers. If a civilian gets caught, the enemy can summarily execute him or her.
However, this is not a regular war and the russians are not your usual enemy. They are criminals who murder Ukrainian solders all the time – civilians too – so it really doesn’t matter who fights the cockroaches, and Ukraine should be free to also break the rules. The important thing is to kill russians, which is currently the most important job on this planet.
Not sure what civilans can do against SU-bombers, tanks, choppers or drones, except they are equipped with bazookas, Himars or Patriots. But every little helps. But didn’t Zelensky dissolve several volunteer batallions and remove them from the front not a too long time ago? 🤔
With a Rifle, the average Hunter could eliminate the Pilot of a Chopper if unseen and from head on.
A number 4 from both barrels to the Rotor head might cause enough damage to need a good repair, or even enough damage to the blades to cause failure.
Similarly, any Drone caught flying a nearby predictable path could be downed with any Game shot.
They can kill infantrymen, truck drivers or shoot the radiators on those trucks, and helicopters can be brought down when done right, and many other things. Partisans did a lot of damage during WWII.
Civilians have poisoned many cockroaches during this war with pies and alcohol. It all adds up in the grand scheme of things.
That’s right. That little fact has been forgotten. Dozens of cockroaches are rotting in hell due to such actions.
I have to admit I was unaware such a Law was generally in existence!
I had expected any invading force in any Country to be fair game for anyone with the means to kill them.
Not something I would worry about in any case.
I’m not sure why such a law was agreed on in the first place, seeing that only evil trash countries do any mindless invading these days and such creatures should be allowed to be killed by any possible means. Under such a law, the French Maquis, the Ukrainian partisans, and many others fighting against evil invaders and tyrants would’ve been illegal.
