Of the 47 tanks, 28 were destroyed or seriously damaged.

Strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed and damaged a significant part of the tanks at the Tuapse oil refinery in the Russian Federation, Militarny reports , citing satellite images published by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel .

“Out of the total fleet, which includes 47 tanks with a capacity of about 159,140 m³, 28 units were destroyed or seriously damaged,” the report said.

According to the Oko Hora Telegram channel, 24 tanks were destroyed as a result of the attacks, which is 52% of the total. Another 4 units (9%) were damaged. 18 tanks (39% of the fleet) remained undamaged.

It is noted that over the past month, the oil depot has suffered devastating blows, causing significant damage and undermining its export potential. In particular, drone attacks on April 16 and 20 were decisive, when large-scale fires broke out after the hits.Read also:

Strikes on Tuapse

As UNIAN reported, on the night of April 20, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces again struck the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that a hit was recorded in the tank farm with a subsequent fire on the territory of the facility.

The General Staff emphasized that the defeat reduces the ability to provide fuel to the military units of the Russian aggressor.

At the time, local authorities in Russia confirmed the attack on the plant. Footage from social media and analysis showed more than a dozen separate fire centers at the refinery, making it difficult to put out the fire.

On April 23, it was reported that polluted rain had fallen on the Russian city of Tuapse, located on the Black Sea coast . Bloomberg reported that local authorities were struggling to put out a fire at an oil refinery caused by a drone attack, highlighting the environmental consequences of the war in Ukraine.

Local officials said soot, ash and chemicals mixed with atmospheric water, causing rain to coat surfaces with a “black coating.” Officials urged residents to stay indoors with windows closed.

Also, the results of air quality tests conducted in Tuapse showed that the concentration of soot, benzene, and xylene – pollutants that pose a threat to health – was two to three times higher than normal.

This is the first time that regional authorities have acknowledged the environmental damage caused to the Tuapse region by fires caused by Ukrainian drone attacks this month.
