Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, has said she was present at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel where a shooting occurred on the evening of 25 April.

Details: Stefanishyna shared several photos from the event – taken before gunshots were heard in the building and after the shooting began.
In the second photo, the ambassador and the man next to her can be seen sitting on the floor while taking cover.

Background:
- On the evening of 25 April in Washington, gunshots were heard during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at a hotel where Trump and Melania Trump were present; they were urgently evacuated.
- Law enforcement officials said the attacker was identified as 31-year-old teacher Cole Thomas Allen from Torrance, California. He was detained. The attacker’s motives remain unknown.
- Commenting on the incident after the evacuation, Trump suggested that he himself may have been the attacker’s target.
- Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the shooting.

I’m not sure who made that quote. I thought it was Olga. But definitely an unlucky statement. On the other hand Trump confirmed the shooter was acting alone, so difficult for ruZ-crapperZ to exploit i think.
It seems to me that everyone at the event were lucky, considering this wacko was well armed.
