There was another “two-bug” in Russia last night: drones attacked the Samara region. In particular, one flew over the Syzran oil refinery.
A powerful fire broke out at the enterprise, which is getting worse and worse. This was reported by Russian media, and the damage was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What is known
The first reports of a drone attack on Syzran began to appear after 4 a.m. on August 15 – first in local chat rooms, and a little later – in all-Russian public forums.
The latter initially cheerfully reported about the “active work of air defense” and that “several targets have already been destroyed.”

However, it soon became clear that the drones flying to Syzran were “destroyed” not by anti-aircraft missiles, but by the Syzran Oil Refinery. According to Russian propaganda, there were also destructive “fragments”: if you believe the propagandists, they turned the enterprise into a torch.
“Residents of Syzran report a fire near a local refinery after an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to local residents, after a series of explosions, they saw fire and smoke near a local enterprise. Previously, debris from downed UAVs had fallen there. There has been no official information about the consequences of the attack yet,” complained the propagandists of one of the Russian public groups, which previously “destroyed” UAVs in their Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, the Russians were actively filming the process of “falling debris” at the refinery: they flew surprisingly accurately and hit their targets more than once.
The trend was encouraging: at about 6 a.m., the fire at the refinery only intensified.

The effective strike on an important target was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
They announced the “damage to the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation, which is one of the largest in the Rosneft system.”
“It produces a wide range of fuels , including aviation kerosene . It participates in supplying the armed forces of the Russian Federation . The target was hit, a fire and explosions were recorded ,” the General Staff emphasized.

Meanwhile, Russian firefighters were apparently in no hurry to get to the site of the “falling debris”: the Russians observed a string of fire trucks on the streets of Syzran, dragging along in a traffic jam they had created.

According to local reports, at least ten drones flew into Syzran . The Russians also complain that they were “hit hard” and that there were fatalities as a result of the hits.

Instead, according to the version of the governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, there were a total of 13 drones , all of which, of course , were “destroyed. ” The official also called on Russians to refrain from recording the “effective work” of Russian air defense and especially its consequences.

Syzran residents are also discussing the possibility of being visited by “guests” from the FSB for publishing photos and videos of the fire, and are pondering how many walls one must hide behind to remain unnoticed by “drones with thermal imaging cameras.”

What is known about the attacked Syzran refinery?
The Syzran Refinery is one of the largest in the Rosneft system: its design capacity is about 8–8.5 million tons of oil per year (approximately 160–170 thousand barrels per day).
The actual loading in recent years, as stated by Petro Andryuschenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, reached 6–7 million tons, depending on logistics and repairs.
The enterprise is of great importance for the aggressor state. It supplies fuel to the Samara, Saratov, Penza regions and partly to the regions of Central Russia. In addition, the Syzran refinery has access to railway and river routes, which allows it to ship products both within the Russian Federation and for export via the Volga and Caspian ports.
This refinery produces a wide range of products: gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, which makes its role critical for the regional agricultural sector and transportation.
It also works for the war against Ukraine, as it supplies fuel to airfields and military units in the Central and Southern districts of the Russian Federation.
“If it is stopped or significantly damaged, the region will experience a fuel shortage and will have to transfer products from other refineries, which will increase logistics costs and the load on transport corridors. This is the third attack on this refinery. The previous ones were in 2024 and in February 2025. The central GDU6 unit was damaged,” Andryuschenko summarized.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that on August 14, Volgograd was attacked by drones. As a result of the attack, a refinery was hit, and a fire broke out at the enterprise.
On the same day, a powerful explosion was heard in the center of Rostov. At that time, a missile alert was declared in the city.

A burning refinery a day, keeps the cockroaches away.
This is so awesome! Mafia land must burn!
This attack, and the one at the gunpowder factory, are the topping on the Alaska meeting disaster cake. A special message to the war criminal, who has no cards.
