Explosions were heard in the Tver region of the Russian Federation on the night of February 7 : the region was attacked by drones. Local residents reported a fire near a chemical plant important for the Russian defense industry.
The company produces, in particular, products for the aviation and space industries, writes the independent Russian publication ASTRA, as well as the Telegram channel Exilenova+. The attack and its consequences were confirmed by local authorities.
What is known
Exilenova+ reported the attack on the Tver region and the damage to the Redinsky Experimental Chemical Plant after 3 a.m.
“Tver. Chemical plant. Locals report that the Redkinsky Research Chemical Plant , a large enterprise of the Russian chemical industry, was hit. The plant produces special chemical components, in particular for the aviation and defense industries (fuel additives, technical chemicals, special reagents). The products were used for military purposes and dual-use programs ,” the report said.
The fact that this particular plant was under attack is confirmed by ASTRA’s OSINT analysis of footage from the moment of the attack.
“On the night of February 7, residents of the village of Redkino, Tver region, reported a large number of explosions and a subsequent fire. The moment of the drone attack was captured on video, which is available to ASTRA. According to our analysis of the footage, the Redkino Research Plant, located at the address: Redkino village, Zavodskaya ul., 1, was attacked. The video was shot approximately 700 meters from the site of the explosion. After the drones entered the territory of the enterprise, several fires broke out there … Residents report that a chemical smell is felt near the attacked plant ,” the publication writes.
Local residents complained on social media about the sounds of explosions, and also observed the glow of a fire in the area of the enterprise. “Something is burning from the side of the factory,” says a voice-over in one of the videos.
It is known that the Redkinsky Research Plant (ROZ) is a large Russian industrial enterprise specializing in the development and production of chemical products. The company’s website reports that the plant “has been a manufacturer of unique chemical products for aviation and space industry enterprises for several decades.”
The plant is under sanctions from the UK, the US and other countries.
This is not the first time the enterprise has been attacked: the Redkinsky Experimental Plant was attacked in June 2024 and twice in September 2023.
Previously, OBOZ.UA wrote that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck air defense positions in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
It was also reported that in Belgorod, after the explosions, electricity, heating, and water began to be turned off.
This is very nice, and I like any attacks on mafia land, but I cannot understand why Ukraine is not attacking refineries or oil depots anymore, or, at least, the cockroach’s power plants. If anyone has a clue, please inform me.
I don’t know, but maybe they’re attacking things that aren’t well protected?
That might be a reason.
