The recent attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil refinery in the Republic of Tatarstan signifies a pivotal stage in Ukraine’s strategy of striking Russia’s deep infrastructure
The Institute for the Study of War reports.
It is noted that according to Reuters, Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries have led to the shutdown of about 14% of all Russian oil refining capacity.
“The April 2 strikes are the first Ukrainian strikes on Tatarstan, and the distance of the targets from Ukraine’s borders represents a significant inflection in Ukraine’s demonstrated capability to conduct long-range strikes far into the Russian rear,” the statement said.
Analysts noted that such strikes “are a necessary component of Ukraine’s campaign to use asymmetric means to degrade industries that supply and support the Russian military.”
- On the morning of April 2, the authorities of the Russian republic of Tatarstan, located more than 1,000 kilometers from Ukraine, reported a drone attack on businesses in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk, allegedly resulting in casualties. It is reported that the GRU attacked a plant for the assembly of Russian Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs.

Just think what kind of possibilities there would be if the wobbly, lethargic allies could crawl out of their fear cocoons to hand over what Ukraine really needs, and this on a timely basis and in sufficient amounts.
I don’t want to brag, but very early in the war, I foresaw the possibility of such far ranging strikes, reminding other readers of Der Spiegel of Mathias Rust’s famous 1987 landing with a Cessna 172, on the Red Square, directly in front of the Kremlin. Even the Soviet Union, a much stronger military industrial power than today’s Federation, was unable to defend the vast country’s airspace against such low flying intrusions. And Putinstan is weaker than its predecesor, can’t do it, neither.
Still, for the AFU to solve the technical problems involved in turning such a plane into an autonomous long range drone is impressive. Lots of respect!

Good job for predicting this type of aspect in the war, Mr. Gray. 👌
Also not wanting to brag, we too have predicted many things that came to pass, since 2014. The strange thing is that none of us have to do what we’re doing or get paid for it, yet we have a crystal clear vision of things, even those things still somewhere in the future.
