Ukraine will open arms exports in the coming days, with all necessary regulatory decisions already prepared, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has said.

According to Ukrinform, Fedorov made the remarks during the large-scale Brave1 Advantage defense tech event.

“As the president announced regarding the opening of exports, it will be opened soon. You cannot even imagine how soon. All requirements for launching exports have already been finalized,” Fedorov said.

He added that details will be announced in the coming days, along with the adoption of the necessary regulatory act.

Fedorov expressed hope that opening exports will allow Ukraine to become a significant player in the global defense technology market and help domestic manufacturers scale up their developments.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that arms exports should become a long-term source of economic strength for Ukraine.

In April, he stated that all institutional-level arrangements regarding Ukrainian arms exports had already been agreed upon.
