Ukrainian forces struck a railway bridge used for Russian military logistics, ammunition and supply depots, and a missile unit across temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories overnight on August 16.
Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 16 that the operation targeted several military sites in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions and temporarily occupied Crimea.
In the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces struck a railway bridge near Svitlodolynske. According to the General Staff, Russian forces used the crossing to support military logistics and transport personnel.
Ukrainian forces also targeted Russian logistics and ammunition depots near Karlivka in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region.
In temporarily occupied Crimea, the strike hit an area near Rezervne where a Russian missile unit was concentrated. Ukraine’s Navy later identified the target as positions and a deployment site of Russia’s Bastion coastal missile system.
The General Staff did not specify which weapons were used in the strikes or provide a detailed assessment of damage to the railway bridge and depots.
The August 16 operation comes as Ukraine continues targeting Russian military logistics and missile infrastructure across temporarily occupied territories.
On August 16, Ukraine’s Navy also reported striking Russian Bastion coastal missile positions in temporarily occupied Crimea, which Russian forces use to launch Oniks and Zircon missiles against Ukraine.
