Ukraine secures 25-year deal for regular US gas supplies

Ukraine has signed a memorandum with the Greek company Atlantic-see LNG Trade on regular deliveries of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) through Greece’s gas terminals.

Quote: “The agreement provides for regular supplies of US gas to Ukraine via Greece’s gas terminals and the Vertical Corridor.”

Details: Koretskyi said the partnership has a long-term outlook until 2050.

Koretskyi believes this memorandum will secure stable LNG supplies to Ukraine and integrate its infrastructure into the European logistics route.

In addition, the arrangement will ensure the sustainability of the supply and storage system for American gas.

Background:

  • During a meeting with US President Donald Trump on 17 October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy planned to ask for gas supplies and air defence systems.
