The weapons were confiscated by the US when Iran tried to send them to Yemen.

The US government transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces a large shipment of Iranian-made weapons that were intended for Yemen, but were intercepted on the way. This was reported by the US Central Command .

It is noted that on April 4, Ukraine, in particular, received more than 5 thousand AK-47 assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles and RPG-7 grenade launchers. Together with them, more than 500 thousand rounds of 7.62 mm caliber were transferred.

“These materiel are enough to equip one Ukrainian brigade with light small arms. These weapons will help Ukraine defend itself against Russian invasion,” the message says.

It is noted that these weapons were confiscated by the US military between May 22, 2021 and February 15, 2023 from four different ships that, in violation of a UN resolution, tried to deliver their cargo to the Yemeni Houthis. The illegal delivery was attempted by the Iranian military organization Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is considered by the governments of the United States, Israel and a number of other states as a terrorist organization.

  1. I had only heard about the one at the end of last year, didn’t realize it was a culmination of four different seizures. Beats bashing rashist heads in with shovels.

    • Sure, Sir Bill, but that stuff could have been delivered in December, after it had been legally confiscated. It took Biden a whopping five months to decide to give it to Ukraine? What the hell was going on in his mind, can’t keep up with the demands of the job? 😠

      • Some of the people who advise Brandon as well as dummkopfs at the Pentagon are making things more difficult as well. Like herding cats trying to get them all on the same page.🙄😝

        • Yup, Sir Bill. I dunno who’s worse – the Pentagon or the German Bundeswehr bureaucracy. But at least Pistorius tries to improve things, while Lloyd Austin apparently never voiced any intention to get his monster apparatus into better shape. As a former general, he ought to know better. Too hot a topic for him? 🤔

          • The Pentagon is notoriously ponderous and incredibly inefficient, Mr. Gray. It’s still better than the Biden administration. Combine those two, and five months is a flash.

      • Yeah, this company alreqdy made itself a name in Ukraine! Should have no problems to find workers for new factories there. Win/win! 🙂

        • I’ve already bought Rheinmetall stocks, but wish I had done it much sooner. It’s been one of the DAX’s best performers.
