Ukraine has ordered 18 IRIS-T air defense systems from German manufacturer Diehl Defence.

This was announced at a conference on Friday, January 23, by Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch, writes DW , informs Censor.NET.

According to Rauch, Ukraine currently operates nine IRIS-T firing systems and is interested in additional units.

“In the medium term, we plan to expand production to 16 firing systems – in about two years. If we see greater demand from our customers, we will be able to increase production even further,” he said.
