Andy Burnham is counting down the hours until he becomes prime minister, with attention turning to what his government will prioritise and how he plans to deliver his agenda for change.
One person who knows what awaits him is former prime minister Boris Johnson. The pair followed similar paths to power, both serving as high-profile, popular mayors before entering Downing Street.
Speaking to Sky’s Trevor Phillips, Johnson shares his advice for the incoming prime minister.

Boris is one of the most popular and successful conservative politicians of the 21st century. He won two elections as Mayor of London, serving from 2008-2016. A remarkable achievement, given that London is a socialist city. (Unfortunately it has reverted to socialism since then under the ghastly Sadiq Khan).
On returning to parliament he became Conservative leader and won a landslide victory.
Undefeated by the electorate, he was nevertheless pressured out, like Margaret Thatcher was, by his own people because of a piffling matter concerning a drinks party during Covid.
Ironically Sir Kier Starmer has just been given the same treatment by his party.
Boris has just made a documentary film in Ukraine which will be broadcast shortly.

“Boris deserves every bit of the warmth that the Ukrainians have shown to him.
When it became crystal clear that putler was planning a genocidal attack, he was the first to react. The advice he was given by the British Army was to send NLAWS; as many as possible,
They did their job magnificently and the defenders won the Battle of Kyiv.
Boris was the first democratic leader to declare that putler “must fail.”
None of Ukraine’s allies have taken that literally, preferring the “as long as it takes” mantra.
Or in the case of Krasnov: “you will get nothing.”
This is why Boris’s words on Ukraine still carry weight IMHO.
