At a minimum, we are talking about the start of Ukraine’s production of a significant part of the components for Patriot.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova said that Ukraine is actively working with Washington to independently launch the production of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems .

“Indeed, this task is before us. During President Zelensky’s two visits to the United States last year – in September and December – we most discussed the issue of their joint production,” Markarova said in an interview for the publication “European Pravda”, answering to the question about the prospects for the production of Petriots in Ukraine.

She noted that between the two visits of the president there had already been two meetings of businesses, Ukrainian and American (Patriot is several companies that produce various parts of the complex).

“That’s why we are actively working on this. We cannot do without ourselves producing, at a minimum, a significant part of the components, and, at maximum, a completed product. After all, we understand that even after our victory, Russia will not go anywhere,” – Markarova emphasized.

She also noted that Ukraine needs to produce not only air defense.

“Just now the visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Minister of Finance and the head of the National Bank has just ended, who came to meetings at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, but also had meetings with business, where one of the key discussions was about investments in the military-industrial complex and joint work related to individual materials, such as rare earth metals,” the ambassador said.
