American conservative blogger and podcaster Tucker Carlson announced that he is leaving the Republican Party, citing the fact that this political force no longer reflects his views.

According to CNN , Carlson said he would not support the Republican Party ahead of the November midterm elections, rejecting his political affiliation with the party.

“I’m not going to support the Democratic Party,” Carlson added.

The blogger left the party, citing President Donald Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran in February. He supported Trump in 2024, but after the war with Iran began, he apologized for this and for “misleading people,” saying it was unintentional.

The publication recalled that Carlson had repeatedly criticized the war, calling it launched on the orders of Israel at the expense of the Americans, and expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the Republican Party does not represent its own voters, citizens, and the nation.

Split among Republican supporters

He added that he considers himself and everyone who supported Trump to be involved in what is happening, and his conscience is tormented by this. Carlson emphasized that he wants to apologize for “misleading people,” adding that he did it “unintentionally.”
