Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff likely met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow to secure the release of American teacher Mark Vogel . He also held talks with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Fox News host Sean Hannity reported, The Washington Post reports .
According to the host, Trump’s envoy spoke with Putin in Moscow for almost 3.5 hours. Sean Hannity did not specify what the politicians discussed. The White House did not comment on information about possible negotiations.
The publication recalled that Trump himself thanked the Russian president for the release of American teacher Mark Vogel during the exchange, who had been in Russian custody for three and a half years on drug charges.
“I really appreciate what they did in letting Mark go home,” Trump said.
Trump said the terms of the swap were “very fair, very smart, unlike deals you’ve seen” under other presidents.
The American leader also stressed that the release of Mark Vogel could play a significant role in ending the war in Ukraine.
“I think there is goodwill in terms of the war. I think that … can play a big, important role in ending the war,” he said.
WP recalled that despite the fact that the US State Department defined Fogel as “unjustly imprisoned” in Russia, Trump called his release an “act of generosity” on the part of Putin.
“We are grateful to President Putin for what he did, for the fact that he was able to do this,” he added.

It appears Trump has fell, hook, line and sinker for the evil coming out of the Kremlin. Had putler released the 1000s of abducted children instead of one stupid American hostage that deserved to be sent to prison, Trump could have had something to brag about.
