Enemy shelling caused fires to break out in the city.

As a result of a missile strike on the capital on the night of February 12, one person was killed and three others were injured. This was reported by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko .

According to him, the deceased and the injured are from the Obolonsky district of the city. Klitschko added that among the injured there is also a 9-year-old girl, she was hospitalized.

“There is one fatality in the Obolonsky district so far. And there are already three injured, two of them were hospitalized by doctors, and one was given assistance on the spot,” the mayor noted.

According to Suspilne, in some places in the Obolonsky district there was no power after enemy shelling.

At the same time, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that rescuers are currently eliminating the consequences of the Russian attack in the Obolonsky, Svyatoshinsky and Goloseevsky districts of Kyiv. They noted that in the Obolonsky district, two office buildings were destroyed, and a fire broke out in one of them, which was extinguished.

“Svyatoshinsky district: a fire broke out on the roof of a multi-story building. The fire has been extinguished. Goloseevsky district: a fire broke out in a two-story warehouse building. The fire is still being extinguished. In total, more than 80 rescuers and 17 units of fire and rescue equipment are currently working at the scene,” the statement added.

Updated 07:22 . The State Emergency Service of Ukraine clarified that as a result of the attack, the number of victims increased to four people. The fire in the partially destroyed office building was extinguished.

The National Police of Ukraine also showed the consequences of the enemy attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. It is noted that as of 07:00 in one of the districts of the Kyiv region, nine private houses, two cars and an outbuilding were damaged.

“A warehouse fire occurred in another area of ​​the region. There is no information about victims yet,” the statement added.

Updated 08:37 . Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to another enemy attack by the Russian Federation. According to him, the attack damaged apartment buildings, office premises and civilian infrastructure. 

“All our services are working on the ground – helping people, eliminating the consequences of this terror. Unfortunately, as of now, one person is known to have died in Kyiv. Four more were injured, including a child. My condolences to the family and friends,” the head of state noted.

Zelensky stressed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not preparing for peace, as he continues to kill Ukrainians and destroy our cities. 

“Only strong steps and pressure on Russia can stop this terror. Right now we need unity and support from all our partners in the fight for a just end to this war,” he added.
