US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump discussed the war in Ukraine during a televised debate. Trump, a Republican, said he wanted the war to end, and Harris, a Democrat, predicted that her opponent would “surrender Ukraine within 24 hours of winning the election.”

During  the debate,  the host asked both presidential candidates if they wanted Ukraine to win the war.

“I want this war to stop, I want people not to die by the millions. We gave a lot of money to Ukraine, more than Europe. If you look, the figure is huge… Europe does not pay, we pay. Biden simply does not have the courage to demand 250 billion in money from Europe, then 280 billion,” said Trump.

Moreover, the Republican candidate emphasized that he allegedly has “good relations” with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin.

“I have good relations with both Putin and Zelensky. They respect me, and they do not respect Biden and do not even communicate with him. We are now playing with fire regarding the Third World,” added Trump, reminding that Putin has nuclear weapons.

Instead, Harris said that Putin “would be sitting in Kyiv” if the US refused to help Ukraine. The Democrat predicted that her opponent would “surrender Ukraine” within a day of his election victory.

“He will surrender Ukraine within 24 hours after he wins the election. If it weren’t for our help, Putin would already be sitting in Kyiv. We will help Zelenskyi and his troops, because otherwise Putin’s troops will be in Poland,” she said.

In addition, Harris clearly stated that Ukraine must win the war. She emphasized that thanks to the help of the USA, namely the Javelin air defense systems, Ukraine can defend itself.

Separately, Harris reprimanded Trump for the idea of ​​negotiations with Putin: “You think you can negotiate with a dictator, but he will eat you for lunch.”
