The US also wants to call on the UN to recognize Crimea as Russian territory, the publication writes.

The US administration is considering recognizing Ukrainian Crimea as Russian territory as part of a future agreement to end the war in Ukraine, Semafor reports, citing two people familiar with the matter.

According to them, US administration officials also discussed the possibility of the US calling on the UN to recognize Crimea as Russian territory.

“Such a request would align the Trump administration (Donald Trump is the US President, – ed.) with the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has long considered Crimea to be the territory of his country,” the publication writes.

It is noted that this possibility became known against the backdrop of preparations for a telephone conversation between the presidents of the United States and Russia, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 18.

The White House, they say, declined to comment on the matter.

The publication recalled that representatives of the Trump administration have repeatedly openly spoken about the need for Ukraine to make territorial concessions to Russia in order to end the war.

Trump himself, back in 2016, when he was running for president, first spoke about recognizing Crimea as Russian territory. Also, Semafor recalls, Trump said in an interview with ABC News in 2018:

“From what I’ve heard, the people of Crimea would rather be with Russia than where they were.”

The US push for official recognition of Crimea is likely to provoke a huge reaction from Europe, as well as Kyiv, the publication says.

  1. Trump can recognize whose c*ck he’s sucking on at the moment, but it’s not up to him to recognize Crimea belonging to a thief.

  2. “From what I’ve heard ( FROM PUTIN), the people of Crimea would rather be with Russia than where they were.”

  3. “From what I’ve heard, the people of Crimea would rather be with Russia than where they were.”

Of course you would. A clown that says Crimea is russian because they speak russian is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. It doesn’t matter if comrade Trump recognises Crimea as russian, it’s not his country.

  4. AND DONT FORGET TO SELL ALASKA TOMORROW TO PUTIN……………….YOUR BIGGEST AND ONLY FRIEND.

  5. TRUMP: Putin, here are all my trump cards, you may take all of them, so we will make a deal. And dont forget, all my trump cards, are your demands for peace.
