Trump told Volodymyr Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron that he does not support Ukraine’s membership in NATO.

For the first time, the outlines of President-elect Donald Trump’s initial efforts to end the war in Ukraine are beginning to emerge , as he made the first public appearance during a visit to Europe last week. According to The Wall Street Journal, he proposed deploying European troops to Ukraine to monitor the ceasefire.

It is noted that Europe will have to shoulder most of the burden of supporting Kyiv with troops to monitor the ceasefire and weapons to deter Russia.

At a meeting in Paris on December 7, Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron that he did not support Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. But he wanted a strong, well-armed Ukraine to emerge from any cessation of hostilities, the sources said.

Trump said Europe should play a major role in protecting and supporting Ukraine and that he would like European troops to be present in Ukraine to monitor the ceasefire. Officials said he did not rule out the possibility that the United States would support the deal, although American troops would not be involved.

Trump also urged Europeans to do more to pressure the Chinese to end the war, according to a source familiar with the meeting. They discussed using tariffs on China as a bargaining chip if Beijing did not agree to do so.

  1. Not going to work. Just how many troops does Trump think it would need to monitor the Ukrainian border with russia and Belarus? russia has to be defeated either militarily or economically.

    • Interesting how this started and what leaders in the West believed. This was all about NATO according to the Kremlin rat. Now, NATO doesn’t even want Ukraine so what is his purpose to continue invading Ukraine?…
Anything short of joining NATO and complete de-occupation will be a win for the nazis. Besides that, as you said, without complete defeat, I’m afraid the likelihood of restitution is nil.

      • I think we all know what putler’s goals are, and that’s the destruction of Ukraine. Too many fools in the West believe the BS about Nazis and NATO.

        • They also believe in being peaceful democrats, yet their behavior is provoking the complete opposite.

        • IMO, Ukraine has no choice but to return their nuke programs. Especially after Putler broke Budapest and the US/UK didn’t enforce it.
You know the old saying, “Lie to me once…”
