Trump ordered the defense secretary to provide a framework and implementation plan for next-generation missile defense within 60 days.
US President Donald Trump announced that he has signed several orders on the military, in particular on the development of an American analogue of the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system, The Times writes.
“We must immediately begin building a state-of-the-art missile defense shield, the Iron Dome, that will protect Americans. We have phenomenal technology… I think the United States has a right to do that,” Trump said during a meeting with Republican lawmakers in Florida.
The American president also noted that the system will be manufactured directly in the United States. The executive order “The Iron Dome for America” states that the threat of ballistic, hypersonic, cruise missiles and other modern air attack weapons “remains a catastrophic threat facing the United States.”
The document also noted that in 2002, the United States withdrew from the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, so American missile defense policy was designed to respond to “rogue nation threats and accidental or unauthorized missile launches.” But “the threat from new-generation strategic weapons has not diminished, but has become more intense and complex.”

How about an iron dome for Ukraine???
The “Iron Dome” works for Israel because they’re a small country – 8,630 square miles (22,145 square kilometers).
Ukraine is 27 times larger – 233,030 square miles (603,628 square kilometres).
And the US is 444 times larger than Israel – 3,809,525 square miles (9,826,630 square kilometers).
Yawn.
