Trump on the consequences if there is no meeting between Putin and Zelensky: “We’ll see what happens” (updated)

US President  Donald Trump has evaded answering questions about the possible consequences if a bilateral meeting between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky does not take place.

He said this at a briefing at the White House on September 2,  Censor.NET reports .

The journalist asked Trump about the consequences if the meeting between Putin and Zelensky  does not take place. He responded with figures on the losses in the war.

“We’ll see what happens. We’ll see what they do and what happens next. I’m watching this very closely. Last week they lost 7,000 soldiers in both countries. 7,313 soldiers, to be exact, for no reason at all. Both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. I want to put an end to this,” Trump said once again.

The US leader also said he learned “something very interesting” in response to a journalist’s question about whether he had spoken to Putin during the week.

“You’ll find out in the coming days… I had a very good meeting with Putin a few weeks ago. If nothing comes of it, we’ll change our position,” Trump added.

  1. I wish TACO would explain what he thinks will happen if by some miracle, Zelensky does meet with the war criminal. Does expect handshakes and let’s get back to normal, or will it be another war he has stopped?
