The British High Court has rejected Donald Trump’s claim against a British private intelligence firm that collected evidence of his involvement in “perverted” sex acts and bribery of Russian officials. Details of the case are provided by Sky News .
Trump’s lawsuit concerned Orbis Business Intelligence, a private intelligence firm founded by the former head of the “Russian department” of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), Christopher Steele.
On the eve of the 2016 US presidential election, the firm prepared the so-called “Steele dossier,” which contained materials about Trump’s “compromise” with the Russian FSB. The dossier consisted of more than a dozen memos containing allegations of Trump’s antics during his business visits to Russia.
In particular, the dossier alleged that Trump engaged in “perverted sexual behavior, including hiring prostitutes … in presidential hotel rooms in Moscow,” in particular, having a “golden shower” with these prostitutes and participating in “sex parties” in St. Petersburg . It also concluded that all this provided Russian authorities with “ample material to blackmail” Trump as he began his political career.
Under circumstances that are not entirely clear, this dossier hit the media in 2017, causing a huge scandal.
As Trump launched his 2024 presidential campaign, he filed a lawsuit against Orbis Business Intelligence and sought compensation for his suffering. Trump himself claimed that the dossier contained “numerous false or fictitious allegations” and that he sued Orbis to “prove in court that the data is false.”
Having considered the preliminary arguments of the parties, the judge admitted that there were “no compelling reasons” in the case to begin consideration of its merits. She said Trump “has failed to formulate a single viable remedy” and too many years have passed since Trump learned of the dossier.
“Mere storage of the memos by the defendant cannot be considered to have had any influence on the plaintiff – even if he knew about it – not least in circumstances where the memos are on the Internet,” the judge added.

The dossier was shown to be bunk soon after it was revealed. The US left was making war on Trump and grasped at any straw available. He may have lost the suit in the UK, but the real trial concluded years ago.

*Parts* of it turned out to not be true – e.g., the “pee-pee tape”.
But:
Parts of the dossier have proved prescient. Its main assertion – that the Russian government was working to get Mr. Trump elected – was hardly an established fact when it was first laid out by Mr. Steele in June 2016. But it has since been backed up by the United States’ own intelligence agencies – and Mr. Mueller’s investigation. The dossier’s talk of Russian efforts to cultivate some people in Mr. Trump’s orbit was similarly unknown when first detailed in one of Mr. Steele’s reports, but it has proved broadly accurate as well.
