If Donald Trump is re-elected president of the United States, he will not wait for his inauguration to take measures to end the war in Ukraine. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, at a press conference in Strasbourg, writes Politico .
“Trump will act immediately, so we, as European leaders, cannot waste time, because there will not be two or three months between the election and the inauguration of a new president, as is usually the case. We must respond first intellectually, philosophically, then strategically, and then at the level of action as soon as possible,” Orbán said.
The politician reminded that an informal summit of European leaders is planned for November 7 in Budapest. It will take place two days after the US presidential election.
According to Orban, this informal summit is “the most appropriate opportunity to discuss what we should think individually and as a community about the outcome (of Russia’s war against Ukraine – UNIAN), and how to assess what needs to be done after that.”
