Right-wing influencer Steve Bannon has been released from prison in Connecticut just before the US presidential election, an insider tells CNN.

Bannon is a well-known and influential figure in right-wing circles. He led Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and subsequently rose to a top position in the White House. He has previously spread the unproven theory that Trump lost the previous election due to fraud and warns that something like this could happen again.

His podcast War Room has lost popularity since Bannon went to prison, according to CNN. The podcast is listened to by Republican voters, but it also has a large nonpartisan following.
