Journalists have revealed new details about the life of Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage in Russia. The investigation shows that the fugitive ex-president, his family, former bodyguards and associates have settled mainly in Sochi and the Moscow region, using new names and amassing significant assets.
As Censor.NET reports , this is stated in an investigation by journalists from the “Toronto Television” project.
Thanks to the list of names of Yanukovych’s bodyguards who fled with him to Russia in 2014, published in the media, journalists learned that almost all of them now work in the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and are stationed in Sochi (Krasnodar Territory).
From leaked flight databases, journalists have established that Yanukovych’s bodyguards had several encounters with Yanukovych’s alleged mistress Lyubov Polezhai (Sadikova) and her relatives. Yanukovych’s bodyguards presumably accompanied them on their travels. According to social media posts, Lyubov also lives in Sochi.
Investigators have established that Yanukovych, together with his common-law wife and her daughter Maria, lives in the closed complex “Blagodat” in Sochi at 15 Yesaulenko Street. The territory, which covers an area of about three hectares, includes several houses, a garden, a pond, and a private chapel. Through connections with the “Sofina” company , investigators also found a 123,000 m² plot of land near the residence with an abandoned boarding house, which is called Yanukovych’s property.
According to information from Russian registers, Sadykova herself owns 337 hectares of agricultural land, which she began to lease to “Agrocomplex Tkacheva”. In total, during the years of her residence in Russia, the woman acquired over 370 hectares of land in Sochi and over 2,400 m² of real estate worth over $8 million: 5 apartments, 5 houses and 4 more premises (including two apartments in Moscow), claims Toronto Television.
The author of the investigation, Anatoly Ostapenko, said that through an analysis of Russian state registers, merged databases, flight details, phone numbers, and social media posts, it was determined that Yanukovych is now using documents in the name of Oleg Nikolayevich Leonov. It coincides with his mother’s maiden name.

According to the border crossing, Sadykov was accompanied during his trips by two guards and a certain man named Leonov Oleg Nikolaevich.
Lyudmila Yanukovych, the official wife of the fugitive ex-president, has reportedly settled in a family estate in Yalta (occupied Crimea). The phone number she used has been listed as a deceased person’s number since June 19, 2026. But there is no other confirmation of Lyudmila’s death.
Yanukovych’s eldest son, Oleksandr, according to the investigation, now lives with his wife and two sons under the surname Sokolov.
Under this surname, journalists found Oleksandr’s work email at the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and until May 2026 he had access to the facial recognition and tracking system used by Russian special services, as well as editing rights. In addition, in 2022-2023, Oleksandr Yanukovych flew from Moscow to Sochi and back together with the head of the 5th FSB service, Sergei Beseda, and his deputy, Anatoly Bolyukh.
According to the publication, former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka and his wife under the names Viktor Fedorov and Olga Fedorova were also flying with them.
During her years in Russia, Oleksandr Yanukovych’s wife, Olena, has acquired over 27,000 m² of real estate, including in the elite Benelux cottage town near Moscow. According to the Russian Pension Fund, Olena Sokolova (Yanukovych) has been a housewife since 2009. However, as of 2024, she had $3.5 million in deposits.
In addition to Russian citizenship, Olena Yanukovych also holds UAE citizenship, as do her two sons, Viktor and Oleksandr. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n4015414
