I found this article interesting although it has nothing to do with Ukraine. I’m struck by the fact everyone points their finger at the corruption inside Ukraine (which does need cleaning up especially now) but I think that the words of Christ apply.. he without sin cast the first stone. I think many people outside Ukraine don’t understand that corruption is a high priority for Ukrainians and despise it as much as anyone.
The trial of Cardinal Angelo Becciu, a former close advisor to Pope Francis, has come to an end following some 2 years of hearings.

Organized religion is a business that pays no tax. The Vatican has c.$75 billion under investment. There is undoubtedly corruption in an organization of such opacity.
Furthermore there are many dark secrets that are covered up.
Up to 80% of Catholic Priests are homosexual or bisexual. Many are closeted, many are not.
An unknown amount are pederasts. No one knows the number but it’s big.
Often the most vociferous anti-gay priests and cardinals turn out themselves to be homosexuals.

Under such conditions, the level of corruption is likely to be very high.
Personally I’m not concerned about one ‘s sexual preference. However if a priest takes a vow of infidelity (which I couldn’t do) then violates it, whether hetero or gay, it speaks to the priest’s honor and integrity.

The Vatican is corrupt, no doubt, but it’s not completely evil as the orthodox church of muscovy patriarch is.
