The latest rumors are that the US is seeking to deconstruct the sanctions regime, and enter into massive business deals with the genocidal Putin government, and deals to reward his oligarchs and minions.
It looks more like there was never any intention of making any ceasefire deal. It was all a sham to let the russians on both sides to carve up Ukraine. No wonder they didn’t invite Europe or Ukraine to this carve-up.
