Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ambassador to the United Kingdom Valeriy Zaluzhny  is grateful to the British government for its consistently clear and uncompromising position on pressure on Russia.

Zaluzhny’s reaction

According to him, London once again proves that it remains a loyal and reliable ally of Ukraine, which understands the international situation and is aware of all the strategic risks from Russia’s actions and the easing of sanctions against it.

“The Russians kill Ukrainians every day, destroy our peaceful cities and civilian infrastructure. The entire state mechanism of Russia is now geared exclusively to aggressive war. Putin’s only logic is to continue aggression as long as he has the resources for this and until he is stopped by force,” Zaluzhny emphasizes.

He also notes that easing economic and sanctions pressure on Russia is only an encouragement for further escalation, which could very easily and quickly go beyond Ukraine and beyond Europe. Such easing cannot be justified by anything – no business logic or political declarations.

“You cannot negotiate with the aggressor at the expense of Ukrainian lives – this is fuel that will ignite an even bigger war. I thank Prime Minister Andy Burnham and all the people of Great Britain for their solidarity and reliable support for Ukraine in our struggle,” the Ukrainian ambassador summarizes.
