“This is not the first “arrival”: an oil refinery is burning in Tatarstan (video)

An air raid alert and the “Carpet” plan have reportedly been issued in the region due to the UAV attack.

In the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan), the Taneko oil refinery is burning , workers are being urgently evacuated. Before this, an air raid alarm and the “Carpet” plan were introduced in the region due to a UAV attack, Russian Telegram channels report .

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine announced that an airstrike had been launched at the plant:

“This is not the first time this oil refinery has been hit.”

As the department added, Taneco is one of the largest and most modern oil refineries in Russia, with a processing capacity of over 16 million tons of oil per year:

“The refinery plays a key role in providing fuel to the Russian army. Knocking out refineries and oil depots directly affects Russia’s ability to wage an intensive war. The last drone attack on the refinery in the spring of 2024 damaged the primary processing unit at the refinery. The distance from the front is more than 1000 km.”
