There will be no normalization with Russia even after the war in Ukraine – Rutte

The NATO Secretary General warned that Russia continues to pose a threat to NATO member states.

There will be no normalization of relations with Russia even after the end of the war in Ukraine . NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte made this statement while speaking to journalists in Warsaw, The Guardian reports .

“This will not happen. It will take decades because there is a complete lack of trust. Even if the war ends, the Russian threat will still exist,” he stressed.

Speaking about the peace talks, Rutte noted that he was glad that US President Donald Trump had “brought Ukraine and Russia out of the impasse.”

“It will be a step-by-step process. NATO gets regular updates. I know the Europeans are as involved as possible. But ultimately, it’s the Americans who do it with the Ukrainians and the Russians. We’ve always been clear that we need to bring Ukraine to a lasting, long-term peace. Putin should never try to attack Ukraine again,” he said.

The NATO Secretary General paid special attention to the initiative of Paris and London to provide security guarantees for Ukraine. According to him, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are working diligently to unite European countries to help preserve peace in Ukraine:

“The most important thing is that these discussions are underway now, but it is clear that first a peace agreement needs to be concluded, and only then can the peace be maintained.”

Among other things, Rutte noted that Russia, as before, poses a threat to NATO member states.

“With the latest missile technology coming from Russia, the difference between an attack on Warsaw and an attack on Madrid is 10 minutes. So we are all on the eastern flank. Amsterdam, London and even Washington are on the eastern flank,” he stressed.

  1. Instead of worrying about the threat from mafia land, make sure that mafia realises if it fucks about, it will be decimated.

  2. A bit off topic, but, would Ukraine accept giving up the occupied territory, if it is left as it is now, in ruins? A buffer. They would have to level more of it from their side, make it uninhabitable, not even the orcs could rebuild or live there, a no mans land… just a thought.

    • Even if in ruins, it is still sovereign Ukrainian territory. In my opinion, any buffer zone should be in the ruins of the ruzzian federation.
