Russian journalists accompanying Sergei Lavrov to the G20 meeting in Atlanta have received American visas without territorial restrictions.

Russian journalists accompanying Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Atlanta have received US visas with no travel restrictions. They were subject to territorial restrictions during the September UN General Assembly in New York, Russian media reported.

At that time, the visas of journalists from Lavrov’s pool contained a note that allowed them to be only within a 25-mile (about 40 km) radius of downtown New York, where the UN headquarters are located.

Such conditions effectively limited the ability of Russian correspondents to travel to other cities, including Washington, to conduct interviews and work outside the designated zone.Video of the day

Restrictions on the movement of Russian journalists have been in place before. A corresponding note has appeared on their American visas since 2023.
