Peace talks between the US and Ukraine have reached a dead end, the publication writes.
Peace talks between the US and Ukraine have stalled because the Donald Trump administration wants to force Ukraine to give up all of Donbas, Politico reports , citing a European official.
“Regarding the territorial issue, the Americans are simple: Russia is demanding that Ukraine give up its territories, and the Americans are still trying to figure out how to do it. The Americans insist that Ukraine must leave Donbas… one way or another,” he told the publication on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, it is noted that Ukraine insists that any peace agreement must include a freeze on the war along the current front line. Currently, Ukraine controls approximately 30 percent of Donbas.
“Perhaps Trump also wants this to happen quickly, so his team is forced to explain to him that it’s not their fault that it’s not happening as quickly as he wanted… So it’s important how America will act – as a mediator or leaning toward the Russians?” the European official said, adding that Ukraine is also awaiting clarification regarding what security guarantees the US is prepared to provide.

It is very hard for me to comment since i care about Ukrainian conscripts and their lives, but surrendering anything beyond the Crimea is suicide in my view. RuSSia simply cannot be trusted, period.
Not only would surrendering Crimea to the rashist condemn freedom loving residents to continued oppression, detention, torture, rape, and death, it would also leave a permanent launch point for orcs to strike Ukraine from including Odessa.
Seems we are still light years apart. I would surrender the Crimea and strip muZZlim volunteers of Ukrainian citizenship.
