The US Embassy in Moscow is asking Americans to avoid crowds and have evacuation plans due to the threat of terrorist attacks in Russia.
The statement was published on the website of the diplomatic mission.
“According to media reports, there have been threats of attacks on shopping centers, railway and metro stations, as well as other crowded places in large cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in areas of high tension along the border with Ukraine,” – reported at the embassy.
The State Department also reissued the Travel Warning to Russia dated November 2, 2021.
Americans are advised to refrain from traveling to Russia due to border tensions with Ukraine, possible harassment of US citizens, the pandemic, terrorism, harassment by Russian security officials, and arbitrary enforcement of local laws.
“Given the ongoing volatility of the situation, U.S. citizens are strongly advised to refrain from traveling by land from Russia to Ukraine via the region. In addition, throughout Russia, foreigners may be targeted, including through regulations specifically targeting foreigners,” it said. in the message .
