The Ukrainian Armed Forces may launch an operation in Transnistria: the general named the main condition

The Ukrainian Defense Forces could carry out an operation in the territory of Transnistria, where the aggressor country Russia stores large stockpiles of ammunition and military equipment. However, this task is not a priority for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with OBOZ.UA by the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko. “It is important for us to achieve success there and put an end to this Russian cancerous tumor on the territory of Moldova on the border with Ukraine,” he emphasized.

According to the general, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command needs to focus on the situation in the east of our country, where the occupation army continues to advance. When this advance is stopped, if the necessary forces and resources are available, it will be possible to begin a military operation to create a buffer zone on the territory of Transnistria.

“Russia has few troops there, but powerful warehouses with ammunition and equipment. All of this was brought there from all over Eastern Europe when the Warsaw Pact was falling apart. And we have the corresponding forces in that direction,” Romanenko explained.

“But I would like to emphasize that this could be an effective move if the appropriate resources were available,” he concluded.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue a successful operation to create a buffer zone in the Kursk region of Russia. Russian troops built two pontoon crossings across the Seim River, one of which did not last even two days.

  1. So, this is the second article from Obozrevatel that mentions such a type of operation. Either the AFU is deflecting from something else, or they are seriously considering this. Unless they have a better idea, I think that taking Transnistria would be another successful mission that will cost a minimum of lives and material with huge benefits. The ammunition alone would make it worth it.

  2. My contact in Moldova told me that Maia Sandu had been approached by representatives of Zel some time ago about liberating Transnistria from filth, but she declined the offer.

  3. Ukraine will do what Romania should have done long ago. Moldova is a part of Romania and ruzzians and orc slaves myst be expelled as soon as possible!
