The Ukrainian Armed Forces have already begun to use American weapons to attack targets on Russian territory . Independent analyst OSINTdefender writes about this on the social network X. 

He draws such conclusions after studying the fragments of ammunition found in the Belgorod region and shown by Russian propagandists. The analyst identified them as GMLRS guided missiles launched from an M142 HIMARS.

“This was the first time the Ukrainian Armed Forces used US-provided weapons on Russian territory overnight. The results of this attack are still unknown, however, it appears that at least 8 missiles were launched from the Kharkov region,” the expert writes.

The analyst also studied night footage of missile launches from the HIMARS installation and came to the conclusion that this was the first episode of the use of this weapon on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“The footage shows at least eight missiles fired from an M142 HIMARS system south of Volchansk, followed by air raid warnings in Russia,” writes OSINTdefender. 

Military observer for the German publication BILD Julian Röpke agrees with OSINTdefender and adds that the Russian offensive north of Kharkov has now been completely stopped by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Over the past week, the Ukrainian army has confidently held the front line. 

The United States partially lifted the ban on strikes against the Russian Federation

As UNIAN wrote, US President Joe Biden allowed Ukraine to use transferred American weapons to strike Russian territory. The authorization concerns the ability to “carry out counterattacks across the border.” At the same time, Ukraine is prohibited from attacking the rear areas of the Russian Federation and, in principle, is prohibited from attacking the Russian Federation with powerful ATACMS missiles.

According to Politico, the Ukrainian leadership remained dissatisfied with such half-hearted easing and intends to seek a complete lifting of the ban on strikes against the aggressor.
