Russian invaders distributed online videos of abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war . Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said that this could have happened in the Kharkov direction.

“The video shows beatings, humiliation, threats, and simulated executions. Unfortunately, such treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war is not an exception to the rule, but a common tactic for the occupiers. Such actions are a violation of the Geneva Conventions, according to which prisoners of war have the right to humane treatment,” – he wrote in his Telegram channel .

Lubinets sent official letters to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN so that they would document the fact of abuse. “Russia does not follow any rules of war and is not at all shy about demonstrating its cruel and inhumane actions,” he added.

In a video published online, you can see that four Ukrainian prisoners of war are being led in a column, blindfolded. The men are forced to sing the song “Get up, huge country.” They are kicked, causing one of the prisoners to fall. The soldier is threatened with death if he does not stand up, and then one of the officers shoots near his head. This is where the video ends.

Abuse of prisoners:

As you know, this is not the first time that Russians have published online evidence of inhumane treatment of Ukrainian prisoners. They showed executions of military personnel and brutal bullying.

In April last year, a video of the brutal execution of a Ukrainian prisoner was made public . Russian propaganda began to justify this by saying that “there is no war without cruelty,” so the occupier who committed this atrocity is not condemned.
