The war became a “window of opportunity” for Russian commanders, who, judging by the reports of their subordinates, could already be millionaires. One of the most common schemes is extortion from mobilized and contract workers, and in case of refusal, brutal revenge.
A very revealing story happened with the Russian Hryhoriy Kotovsky – a 41-year-old father of many children, who voluntarily went to fight against Ukraine and joined the UAV unit of the 3rd battalion of the 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment. According to him, extortion by the commanders began almost immediately: a sergeant with the call sign “Buhor” and a platoon commander with the call sign “Moscow” demanded money from him allegedly for the purchase of a UAV. At first, the occupier gave them 30,000 rubles (according to the NBU exchange rate, this is a little more than 13,000 UAH), then another 70 (about 31,000 UAH), but the drones never appeared. Then he already refused to “reset” and the commanders began to threaten to transfer him to attack aircraft.

Grigoriy’s relatives immediately made the story public, spreading the information through social networks. As a result, the matter reached the State Duma deputy, who initiated the appeal to the military authorities. After that, Kotovsky and his commanders were summoned to the military headquarters for questioning. The questioning concerned the explosion in the dugout, the threats and extortion by the commanders,” the Telegram channel “Don’t wait for good news” described the situation .
The occupant told the details of the situation and, in general, what was happening in the unit. The commanders, for their part, denied involvement in extortion and a planted explosive device, claiming that it was … an accident. As a result, after questioning, everyone was released without any charges.
Returning to the camp, the commanders decided to get rid of the “traitor”. He was appointed a machine gunner and sent to the front line without the necessary equipment, his phone was taken away and he was restricted from communicating with his loved ones.
The 382nd separate battalion of the Russian marines (part of the 810th ObrMP), which came to light in Ukraine during the offensive on Mariupol, is also feverish. The battalion is located in the Kursk region, on the territory of which the Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting an unprecedented operation.
The occupiers with the call signs “Maga” and “Sarmat” recorded an appeal from n.p. Borky, in which they told what their combatant Ivan Pashchenko (“Sokil”) was doing. According to the Russians, in addition to the fact that he is involved in the drug trade, he sends disaffected servicemen “in one direction”.
They complained that under the leadership of “Sokol” the battalion had already been reset to zero more than once, because the combatant prefers to send personnel without preparation for slaughter. It is known that before being sent to the Kursk region, their unit was in the Kherson region, where they also “lost many people due to uncoordinated actions and stupid orders.”

The reason was that “Sokil” previously reported on the successful evacuation of the local population from the Suzhan district. But it turned out to be a lie, which as a result was exposed by his subordinates.
Help only in words
Despite Putin’s statement that mobilized Russians have the same rights as contract workers, in practice, this does not happen – without a contract, hospitals refuse the necessary help.
The Russian segment of Telegram is full of messages about “complete arbitrariness”. The occupier, who was injured in the war in Ukraine, applied to the Krasnoznamensk hospital for disability registration to gain access to free medicine. During the conversation with the doctors, it became clear that he needs to undergo a complete examination again, but the mobilized person does not have an official referral. As a result, he was sent to another hospital without documents.
“I visited three hospitals – they send me everywhere. What are we, not people at all? Where should we be treated? Just slowly die in a part and that’s it, or what?” – cries the Russian.
Employees of the hospital in Krasnoznamensk admit that the problem has a systemic nature at the state level, and they themselves are unable to solve it. And no one will solve it, it’s just that Putin’s regime decided to save money on those who are sent to slaughter. Well, if they survived, then these are their problems.
The same situation with the occupiers, who received mutilations, from the “Storm Z” special unit. Assault squads were created in January 2023, after the so-called “Wagner” PMC was deprived of the opportunity to recruit prisoners to participate in the war against Ukraine.

It has been known for a long time that Russian commanders are abandoning wounded occupiers everywhere in the war zone in Ukraine, but now their relatives have started to speak about it out loud. A video spread on social networks, in which the wife of a soldier of the army of the aggressor country stated that the same was done to her husband Oleksandr Varenikov . He is under contract in the 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment (military unit 82717, Kamyshin, Volgograd region of the Russian Federation).
Co-workers last saw her husband on August 3. The woman repeatedly came to the military unit, where she was told that Varenikov was alive and well, but later the servicemen reported that he was wounded in the leg and was left by the commander at the position. When she contacted the unit again to check on his condition and to organize an evacuation, she was told that the man was listed as “missing in person” because… “no one has seen him.”
“I turned to the acting commander of the Rostov unit, Vadym Vasyliovych. All my questions and all my requests were ignored. Who is responsible for this? Why are wounded soldiers abandoned? Why was he needed when he was sent on a mission without training, and how just got wounded, dropped from the accounts and just left alone to die?” – the Russian woman said in a video message.
She is outraged that her child should remain an orphan because “the commander, being in the rear and in safety, does not take care of his personnel.” The fact that Russian “officers” have no honor is 100%, and this case is another proof. But why did her husband sign a contract and set out to kill Ukrainians – the occupier’s wife does not think twice.
Any citizen of the Russian Federation who fights against Ukraine is a war criminal. And for their commanders, they are just consumables, which is not a sin to sacrifice. The only question is when the Russians will finally be able to realize this.
