Retired colonel and military expert Roman Svitan declared that any movement of Russian or Belarusian troops toward the Ukrainian border would trigger immediate retaliatory strikes.

Ukraine would not wait for an invasion but would instead destroy vital parts of Belarus’s economy within hours.

Targets would include the Mozyr Oil Refinery, Belaruskali fertiliser plant, Naftan refinery, and critical railway infrastructure. The Mozyr facility, just 40 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, could be taken out in a single rocket salvo, Svitan said.

Ukraine has stationed tens of thousands of troops and built strong fortifications along the Belarusian frontier.

While Russia may be attempting to scare European partners with talk of joint military drills, Svitan believes these are information warfare tactics aimed at stalling diplomatic progress.

Talks are under way to position foreign peacekeeping forces along the Belarusian border to relieve Ukrainian units for eastern operations.

Russia used Belarus as a launch pad for a failed offensive on Kyiv in 2022 that forced the Kremlin to save face by claiming their focus was never Kyiv but Eastern Ukraine .

Zelensky was responding to a statement by the White House press secretary, who said that Trump was “losing patience.”

“I don’t know what’s going on with anyone else, but it’s Ukrainians whose patience will run out. Because we are the ones under attack — no one else. I don’t wish this on anyone, but it’s us who are being hit by Russian missiles,” said the Ukrainian President.
