We are preparing our sanctions packages – particularly targeting entities and schemes in third countries that, unfortunately, help Russia evade some of the sanctions. At the same time, we continue to strengthen our defense: we expect significant defense packages for Ukraine soon, along with decisions on further cooperation – cooperation with key countries during the war and in the post-war period. We are laying a solid foundation for reconstruction.

And at the same time, we are ready to move toward a ceasefire as soon as possible – even starting today – if Russia is ready to take reciprocal steps – to establish complete silence, a lasting ceasefire of at least 30 days. This is a fair timeframe to prepare the next steps. Russia must stop the war and halt its assaults and shelling.

All night, rescuers in Kyiv were extinguishing fires – houses and cars – after the attack of Russian drones on sleeping areas. Unfortunately, there are children and adults affected. Everyone has been given the help they need. There was a fire in Cherkasy – a regular dormitory was burning. This night the Russians also hit “shahedami” across Kharkiv region, Mykolaiv region, Kyiv region. Overall for the night – 165 BPLA, most of them are Iranian “shahedi”. All morning there are KABAMA strikes on Donetsk region and Sumy region.

Russians ask for silence on May 9, and themselves beat every day across Ukraine. This is cynicism of the highest level. During this week, Russia has used against Ukraine over 1180 strike drones, 1360 controlled air bombs and 10 rockets of different types.

We need a real ceasefire. Ukraine is ready for silence any day, but at least for a month to put an end to the war. If silence, then every day, if ceasefire, then not on their holidays, but on every day. Thank you to all our partners who continue to help Ukraine and put pressure on Russia.

All night long, emergency crews in Kyiv were battling fires in apartment buildings and cars after Russian drone strikes on residential neighborhoods. Unfortunately, there are injured children and adults. Everyone has received the necessary assistance. In Cherkasy, an ordinary dormitory was on fire. Last night, Russian forces also targeted the Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions with Shahed drones. In total, 165 UAVs were launched overnight – most of them Iranian Shaheds. Throughout the morning, guided aerial bomb strikes on the Donetsk and Sumy regions are continuing.

The Russians are calling for a ceasefire on May 9 while striking Ukraine every single day. This is top-level cynicism: just this week alone, Russia has used over 1,180 attack drones, 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and 10 missiles of various types against Ukraine.

A real ceasefire is necessary. Ukraine is ready for silence to begin on any day – but for no less than a month, to bring the war to an end. If there’s silence, it must be every day. If there’s a ceasefire – then not for their holidays, but for every day. I thank all our partners who continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on Russia.

Together with the first lady arrived on an official visit to the Czech Republic. Planned meetings with President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala, heads of the House of Deputies and Senate and leaders of parliamentary factions, as well as heads of defense companies, students and the Ukrainian community.

Most importantly, our gratitude to the Czech Republic for its principled support and strengthening of our cooperation. The Czech Artillery Initiative worked effectively, we will continue. A separate direction of cooperation is developing our military aviation, expanding pilot training programs, and securing our F-16 fleet. Together with the Czech Republic and other participants of the aviation coalition prepare good news for Ukraine. Of course, we will talk about diplomatic efforts and joint pressure on Russia for a lasting ceasefire and ending the war.

Elena will participate in the opening of the Healthcare Initiative for Ukraine conference – an important platform to strengthen international medical partnership and save the lives of our people. As well as a new step in expanding the Coalition of Ukrainian Studies in Czech universities has been prepared – in all areas we are increasing support for Ukraine.
